Dawn is a native Canadian with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and is a Certified Autism Specialist. Before moving to the United States, Dawn was an advocate and worked with the rehabilitation of adults and youth involved in the criminal justice system. Dawn is also a former Registered Behavioral Technician and has experience working with adults, teens, and children on the autism spectrum. Dawn’s extensive knowledge of the cycle of partner/domestic violence, grief, anxiety, and other mental health issues allows her to understand that no two clients require the same approach and integrate various interventions depending on client needs. She acknowledges that therapy may come with serious challenges. Dawn uses her unique approach to incorporate humor, warmth, and compassion to create a more balanced experience.
“After witnessing encounters of people being misunderstood and not heard, I entered the counseling field to become an advocate and help others find their voice, giving those who struggle with life’s daily process a way to discover ways of communicating effectively.”
